Needlepainting is a surface embroidery technique, like painting a picture with a needle and thread. It is also referred to as silk shading or thread painting. The main stitch used for Needlepainting is long and short stitch which allows you to fill an area with subtle blends of colour resulting in a realistic ‘painted’ finish.
