IRON ON TRANSFER BOOK

Iron on transfers for my last 4 books: Whitework with colour, Colour Confidence, Miniature Needlepainting and Needlepainting Embroidery, Fresh Ideas for beginners - can be found in the title TRISH BURR'S EMBROIDERY TRANSFERS. Please note that each book project also includes a tracing outline should you prefer to trace your own.

FABRIC FOR IRON ON TRANSFERS

You will achieve a clearer outline on linen fabric then cotton, but the line is still visible on cotton. Iron on transfers CANNOT be used on silk fabric. The transfers can be used 1 - 2 times successfully.

How to use small - medium transfers

STEP 1

Set the iron to the hottest dry setting and press the linen to remove creases and pre-heat the fabric.

STEP 2

Cut out the transfer and place face down on top of the fabric.

STEP 3

Ensure that the transfer is centered on the fabric. Place two pins on either side to hold in place whilst ironing.

STEP 4

Place a piece of scrap fabric on top of the ground fabric to prevent scorching.

STEP 5

Place the hot iron on top of the fabric and transfer. Hold in place for about 40 seconds. Do not move the iron around keep it still to prevent bleeding.

STEP 6

Remove the iron on transfer, outline will be visible on the fabric. Press outline one last time to set the transfer.

How to use large transfers

STEP 1

STEP 3

Place a piece of scrap fabric on top of the ground fabric to prevent scorching.

STEP 4

Place the hot iron on top of the fabric so that it covers the first half of the transfer. Hold in place for about 40 seconds. Do not move the iron around, keep it still to prevent bleeding.

STEP 5

Pick up the iron and place it so that it covers the second half of the transfer. Again hold in place for about 40 seconds.

STEP 6

Remove the iron on transfer, outline will be visible on the fabric. Press outline one last time to set the transfer.
