The Art of shading level 3 distance learning class is now available for registration.

This is the follow on from Level 2 class where you will learn the Art of Long and short stitch also  known as Silk Shading or Needle Painting.   

In this class you will learn to how use more complex variations of colour, how to add details to achieve a more realistic effect, and you will learn how to do irregular long and short stitch shading to create fluffy bird feathers. This class includes considerably more detail than the previous levels and is suitable for intermediate level or those who have previous experience in the technique.

Details

This class is designed to be worked remotely and includes all the instructions, and resources you will need. The pattern and instructions for this class are provided as a PDF digital download which can be printed out or viewed on your tablet/PC. The notes include a list of materials required and a tracing outline for the pattern.

Member Area

You will have password access to a private Members area which contains hints, tips  and some videos from your tutor to help with this project. 

Translation

There is a translation facility on this site to translate the notes into other languages.  Details will be provided with your download.

You Will Receive

  1. A PDF file to download – including 43 pages of notes and instructions.
  2. A Password page to access your private Members area.

Level 1 & 2 closed

Due to an overwhelming response to distance classes Level 1 & 2 I have decided to close registrations for the time being to enable me to manage existing student registrations. I will re-open registration in the near future so if you would like to do either of these classes keep checking back on the site.

Password Problems

Some of you are experiencing problems with your password for the Members area in Level 1 & 2. Please use these instructions for accessing Members area.

  1. Go to Members Area (level 1, 2, or 3)
  2. Put in the password given to you in your notes in Project Part One Stitching.
  3. Press Enter.
